Healing is a Creative Process

We're not just processing pain. We're reshaping our inner and outer worlds—and imagining what comes next.

Feeling far from yourself?

Many of us have spent a long time in survival mode. Exhausted, but unable to rest. Putting responsibilities before our own needs. It can leave us feeling disconnected from ourselves, unsure how to find our way back.

I’ve experienced trauma, massive burnout, and mental health challenges since childhood. I know that battling our minds can drain the colour from our lives, making every day a mountain to climb. I've also found my way back to myself—slowly, imperfectly, with a lot of support. I want that for you too. That’s why I do this work.

Nice to meet you!

Hi, I’m Cassie. I'm the founder of Nest Holistic, a certified yoga therapist (C-IAYT), and a registered psychotherapist (qualifying) based in Nelson, BC.

I blend psychotherapy and yoga therapy to support the healing of the whole self—weaving in art, beauty, and creative re-imagining along the way.

How I got here…

I've had to dig into the deeper layers beneath burnout and ask myself what led me to push myself so hard in the first place, and why I was ignoring the signs that my mental and physical health were deteriorating. Many of these reasons are systemic, influenced by trauma, and some of them were choices, too. I've had to learn how to feel what I feel, and need what I need, and care for all the parts of myself ashamed of those needs.

Yoga helped my body experience a peace and freedom I had never known. Once I knew I could feel that way, I was able to gradually align my choices toward that felt experience over the years. Psychotherapy has provided the support I've needed to work through all those changes, and process all the grief, anger, and shame that needed a space to be acknowledged and understood.

I've needed a mind-body approach—and I bring that approach to this work. If talk therapy alone hasn't been working for you, you’re in the right place.

Let's connect

“[Cassie’s] ability to meet you wherever you are and give your feelings a gentle, comfortable, and receptive place to land is something unlike anyone I've ever known."

What makes this different

A large white fabric with colorful children's drawings and paintings spread on a rocky ground outdoors, with some grass and shadows visible.

At Nest, we approach healing as a creative process. Part tending to wounds, part reimagining what's possible. We don't have to choose between grieving what was and building what's next. We hold both. We give voice to our pain while choosing what we want more of for ourselves. It's messy, like any act of creation. And over time, our lives begin to look like ours again.

Meeting you where you are

We move at your pace. My job is to meet you where you are today, not where you think you should be.

Honoring survival patterns

Your defenses kept you safe. I approach them with respect while supporting you in updating them for what you need now.

Intergenerational healing

We can understand where our patterns began while holding compassion for those who came before us.

Grounded spirituality

This work blends nervous system regulation with earth-based wisdom. An integration of tradition and science.

Creativity as essential

Art, imagination, and play are essential to this process. Healing comes from holding the pain and the possibility.
